Province Approves new Binbrook Catholic Elementary School
Hamilton - Ontario's government is protecting what matters most by investing in new local schools to help provide our students with a world-class education system that ensures they have the skills they need to succeed. The province has given approval to tender for a new Catholic elementary school in Binbrook. The new school, at 458 pupil places, is part of the province’s capital investment program to support students with better learning spaces.
“The new school will help bring much needed relief to Binbrook’s one other Catholic Elementary School,” said Donna Skelly, MPP for Flamborough - Glanbrook. “This project provides a safe, quality learning environment and the attached child care centre is a welcome addition that will help alleviate pressure on families – especially those with other children in the Elementary School Program”
Highlights of the new Binbrook Catholic School Include:
• The new school will accommodate 458 students and will relieve the burden placed on Binbrook’s one other Catholic Elementary School.
• The new Binbrook Catholic School has an attached child care centre that accommodates 49 children.
Ontario recently announced Education that Works for You, a new plan to modernize curriculum, modernize classrooms and empower educators to better prepare students for the realities of today's modern world. By supporting school infrastructure needs, the government is helping education work for communities like Binbrook as part of a plan to deliver the world-class education system that our students deserve.
“From modernizing our curriculum to revitalizing our classrooms and their facilities, we are investing in our students and giving them every tool to achieve their full potential. Our financing of the new Binbrook Catholic Elementary School further demonstrates our government’s historic investment in capital projects and our overall commitment to supporting public education in Ontario”, said Minister of Education Stephen Lecce.
“We are very pleased to receive the good news of the approval to proceed with the construction of the new Catholic Elementary School in Binbrook”, said Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board Chair, Patrick Daly. “It will greatly relieve student overcrowding in the area. I would like to thank MPP Donna Skelly for her assistance and support in moving this construction project forward.”
